Job Summary

The Aptitive Insurance Practice Manager will develop, lead, and grow Aptitive’s insurance practice while acting as a subject matter expert and thought leader in the industry. He or she will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding the practice by providing industry expertise to both internal and external leaders. The practice manager will have a deep knowledge of the insurance industry and use this knowledge to help develop strategic solutions for our clients. This person will network with industry leaders, internal sales, and client leadership to understand and communicate trends in the insurance industry. They will contribute to the sales process by demonstrating Aptitive’s service capabilities and expertise to meet client needs.

What You’ll Do

The Insurance Practice Manager will have an overall responsibility for insurance expertise in client relationships, sales pursuits, solution architecture, brand promotion, and community development.

Client Relationships & Business Development

  • Lead business development for insurance-related opportunities
  • Identify market priorities and provide insight to Aptitive’s sales and client leadership
  • Communicate service offerings effectively to Aptitive’s sales team for qualification discussions
  • Partner with sales and client teams to maintain, develop, and expand client relationships
  • Educate internal leaders and external clients on Aptitive’s service offerings
  • Identify, review, and prioritize activities to optimize realization of Aptitive’s sales pipeline
  • Represent Aptitive in industry conferences and forums
  • Participate and represent Aptitive in webinars, summits, media interviews, etc.

Insurance Practice Management

  • Drive thought leadership in the insurance practice
  • Define go-to-market plans and priorities for the practice
  • Understand the competitive landscape in the insurance industry
  • Develop Aptitive’s value proposition and differentiators
  • Develop practice area collateral, offerings, and supporting materials
  • Articulate job requirements for resources needed for the practice
  • Lead the practice marketing initiatives and plans
  • Drive development of assets (ex. tools, accelerators, etc.) and intellectual property (ex.
    playbooks)
  • Provide professional development guidance to Aptitive billable consultants in the practice area

Data & Analytics Delivery

  • Lead or assist with insurance strategy engagements
  • Participate in client solutioning for insurance sales pursuits
  • Understand the business challenges and goals of the industry
  • Develop the storyline that represents all our capabilities to address client problems
  • Support and coach Aptitive’s advisory and delivery teams

Skill Requirements

Ideal candidates should have relevant consulting experience related to the insurance industry, including defining go-to-market service offerings, conducting structured analysis, establishing program definitions, managing a project/program, and using collaborative problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree required and a graduate degree preferred
  • Proven ability to contribute to new business development efforts
  • Strong network of past clients and professional peers in the insurance industry
  • Ability to attract and grow a team of insurance practice professionals
  • Aptitude to identify strategic solutions to business problems with enterprise-wide implications
  • Experience working with senior business partners and C-level clients to identify trends, communicate competitive actions, and present strategic technology implications
  • Ability to identify major technology trends and share a point of view with clients in support of sales pursuits
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively internally and in client organizations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience creating thought leadership content (ex. blog posts, white papers, etc.) and presenting in this area of expertise is preferred

Minimum Basic Requirements

  • 3+ years of consulting experience
  • 5+ years of insurance industry domain experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading and managing teams
  • Experience working with data and analytics desired
  • Lives and/or can work in the Chicago metropolitan area
  • Willingness to commute to client sites within the Chicagoland area
  • Ability to think independently while working in a collaborative environment
  • Fun, enjoyable personality to work with
  • Authorized to work in the United States
